Flight Plans Pre-flight

Every Drone flight needs a plan. We create a flight plan before each takeoff. This helps to ensure we maintain safety and compliance.

Why are Flight Plans necessary?

Having a flight plan is a great way to make sure a project has everything it needs before takeoff. The process of creating a flight plan also gives every client the opportunity to specify their requirements and to be confident with the project.

Flight Plans complete a brief and assist pre-flight checks

We use an easy tool for flight planning which is provided by OpenSky. As well as keeping a record of flight intentions, this amazing app also provides alerts and weather conditions specific to any location and time.

What does a Flight Plan include?

Preparation means safer flying with better results

Drone operators have a busy task during flights, as they perform the functions of Remote Pilot and Photographer / Videographer at the same time. Flight planning is also a means of workload management and include a combination of Flight Operation as well as Media Capture information.

Flight Operation

  • Location and purpose
  • Altitude and path
  • Flight duration
  • Hazards and risks

Media Capture

  • Camera settings
  • Filters and actions
  • Shot list (including angles, distances, backgrounds etc.)

A Flight Plan is really only half of the planning picture. It is also vital to consider the Camera Plan for each project.
