Rules for Drone Use

We follow strict rules when conducting flights, this way we ensure that all Drone operations are conducted in a safe and responsible manner, and everyone’s rights are respected.

Commercial Use: What are the Rules?

There are some basics rules which really are common sense for safety and privacy, such as:

  • Maintaining line-of-sight with craft
  • Keeping below 120 meters altitude
  • Maintaining safe distance of 30 meters from people
  • Having relevant permissions

There are also some more involved legal requirements to ensure compliance, these include:

  • Pilots have appropriate licenses and certifications
  • Flight logs are maintained with required details
  • Craft are individually registered with CASA

Recreational Use: Are the Rules Different?

There are a lot of differences between rules for commercial use versus recreational use. The best way to understand this is to check out some of the information below. Of course, the best source of information relating to compliance in Australia can be found at CASA.
